一、Application Scope
Insulating joints are a general term for pipeline joints that possess both the sealing performance and strength performance required by buried steel pipelines, as well as the insulation performance required for electrical corrosion protection. They consist of components, insulation plates, fillers, sealing rings, nipples, etc.
As an upgraded product improved against the problems encountered in the application of insulating flanges, insulating joints are essential and important pressure components in cathodic protection systems for steel pipelines, and are widely used in such systems.
The Simite insulating joint hydrostatic testing machine is designed for conducting hydrostatic pressure tests on insulating joints. The machine is equipped with an automatic hydraulic clamping mechanism, which clamps the tested workpiece automatically to perform pressure tests.
二、Control Mode
The insulating joint pressure test bench is available in two versions: fully automatic control and semi-automatic control.
The fully automatic control mode enables automatic control of test pressure and pressure holding time via computer. The test bench stops pressurizing automatically when the preset pressure is reached, releases pressure automatically after the preset time, and can output test reports and save test data.
  
III. Features of Insulating Joint Hydrostatic Testing Machine

Packer (Bridge Plug) Testing Equipment can complete all tests of V5 level specified in Clause 6.5.2.3 of API SPEC 11D1 (detailed parameters and test procedures are shown in the appendix). It can generate relevant test reports including pressure-time curves, which serve as important supporting documents for applying for API V5 level product certification.
The equipment can apply setting pressure to packers (bridge plugs), apply upper and lower differential pressure to sealing elements, and provide axial unloading load. It also meets the handling requirements of test tools before and after the test.
The equipment consists of five parts: power system, medium circulation system, remote measurement and control system, axial load mechanism and test platform.

It is mainly used for hydrostatic pressure tests of artillery shells and rocket cylinders.
The test process is controlled by a microcomputer, which can display the pressure-time curve in real time.
Test results can be automatically saved and printed, and data will be retained in case of power failure.
Parameters such as output pressure and pressure holding time can be freely set within the allowable range.
The system is equipped with an automatic hydraulic clamping mechanism to clamp the tested parts automatically.
Tests can be carried out in single-station or multi-station mode according to test requirements.
A water storage tank is installed at the bottom to hold clean water for testing.
