Ⅰ、Application Scope
The mask surface water resistance tester manufactured by Jinan SUPER complies with the requirements of GB 19083-2011, GB/T 4745 and GB 3 standards.

The spray device (see figure) consists of a vertically clamped funnel with a diameter of (150±5) mm and a metal nozzle. The funnel and the nozzle are connected by a rubber hose with an inner diameter of 10 mm. The vertical distance from the top of the funnel to the bottom of the nozzle is (195±10) mm. The metal nozzle has a convex spherical surface, on which 19 holes with a diameter of (0.86±0.05) mm are evenly distributed. After pouring (250±2) mL of water into the funnel, the continuous spraying time shall be between 25 s and 30 s.

The specimen holder is composed of two interlocking nylon or metal rings (similar to an embroidery hoop). The outer diameter of the inner ring is (155±5) mm, and the inner diameter of the outer ring is (155±5) mm, which can clamp the specimen firmly. During the test, the holder is placed on a fixed base at an angle of 45° to the horizontal plane. The center of the specimen is (150±2) mm directly below the center of the nozzle surface.
Test water shall be distilled water or deionized water with a temperature of (20±2) °C or (27±2) °C. Water at other temperatures may be used upon agreement of all relevant parties, and the water temperature shall be recorded in the test report.
8.2 After conditioning the specimen, clamp it with the holder and place the holder on the support with the front side of the specimen facing upward during testing. Unless otherwise specified, the warp direction or length direction of the fabric shall be parallel to the water flow direction.
Pour 250 mL of test water into the funnel quickly and smoothly, and keep spraying for 25 s to 30 s.
Upon completion of spraying, immediately remove the holder with the specimen. Turn the fabric almost horizontally with its front side facing down, then gently tap the holder once against a solid rigid object. Rotate the holder horizontally by 180° and tap it gently once again.
After tapping, immediately grade the wetting degree on the front surface of the specimen in accordance with the water spray characteristics specified in Table 1.
Repeat the procedures from 8.1 to 8.5 to test the remaining specimens.
